Brian Bova, CFA, CAIA, CFP®

Brian is Co-Chief Investment Officer and formerly one of a select group that founded UBS’ Private Wealth Management national practice as well as UBS’ alternative investment consultant for the region, serves as Inscription Capital’s Chief Investment Officer. Mr. Bova, with a B.A. in economics from the University of Washington, and both a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Arizona, is a CFA Charter holder, CFP® Professional, and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. Mr. Bova has been recognized for his work as a private wealth adviser in numerous financial publications, such as Barron’s, On Wall Street, and the Houston Business Journal. Prior to founding Inscription, Mr. Bova sat on the Private Wealth Management Leadership Committee and the Alternative Investment Advisory Council for UBS Financial Services. In addition to his work in the investment community, Mr. Bova serves on the Advisory Board of Houston’s KIPP Academy.

Julio Cacho, Ph.D.

Julio is Co-Chief Investment Officer and has more than 20 years of combined professional and academic experience in financial statistical research, optimal investment selection, and investment risk management. Previously, Julio was a director of risk and performance at Ziff Brothers Investments, a private multi-billion dollar family office in New York City. At Ziff, Julio developed investment and hedging strategies as a quantitative researcher, and implemented risk management strategies. Julio holds a masters of finance and doctor of philosophy (P.h.D.) in finance and economics from Princeton University. He received a B.SC. in Actuarial Science and an M.A. in economics with highest honors from ITAM University, in Mexico City. Julio is currently a faculty member at Rice University and has taught at Princeton University, ITAM, and the Swiss Finance Institute. Julio has also been a seminar speaker at top universities and financial institutions. Julio won the 2005 Citi-Banamex research in economics prize and has published articles about optimal portfolio selection in peer-reviewed academic journals.

Cole Conkling, J.D.

Cole is a Managing Director of Inscription Capital. Previously, Cole was an associate at the national litigation boutique McDowell Hetherington LLP, where he litigated commercial disputes for major corporations and insurers. Prior to that, Cole was a litigation associate for over five years at Andrews Kurth LLP (now Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP), where he represented multinational corporations in some of their most complex and high stakes disputes. He received his B.A. in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin, in 2005, and his J.D. from The University of Houston Law Center, in 2010, where he graduated cum laude, served as the Energy Editor of The Houston Journal of International Law, and was a member of the Order of the Barons. Cole served as a briefing clerk for the Texas First Court of Appeals and for a United States Magistrate Judge. Cole holds a Series 65 license. He is a board member of The Children’s Fund, an all-volunteer non-profit that raises money for early-stage, Houston-area children’s charities; a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church; a past committee chair of the Houston Bar Association; and a fellow of both the Texas Bar Foundation and Houston Bar Foundation.

Leeds Eustis, an Inscription Capital founder, has more than two decades of service working with notable private equity leaders and CEOs in the energy space. Mr. Eustis long recognized the need to reengineer the technological and financial reporting mechanisms to support his work with his clients around the country, and has been recognized for thought leadership in the Houston Business Journal, Barron’s, and other leading financial journals. He is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with a B.A. in Managerial Economics. Mr. Eustis is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA), Houston Producer’s Forum, and the Permian Basin Producer Association. Mr. Eustis is committed to his community and has founded a youth mentoring chapter.

Juan Carlos Herrera

Juan Carlos is a Managing Director of Inscription Capital. After graduating from the University of Texas in Austin, Juan Carlos began his financial career in Madrid, Spain working for a boutique consulting firm. In 2006, Juan Carlos came back to the United States and joined Citigroup where he held positions in wealth management and private banking for affluent families. In 2008, Juan Carlos left Citi to start a quantitative hedge fund, QL Capital Management. While at QL Capital Management, Juan Carlos helped design, develop, and trade unique short term trading strategies that invested in over 80 markets. Juan Carlos has a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and currently holds Series 65 and Series 3 FINRA licenses.

Rick Kaplan, CFA

Rick Kaplan has over 26 years of experience in the investment management industry. He joined Inscription Capital in 2019 as a Portfolio Manager. Rick oversees both Large-Cap Equity and Fixed Income Portfolios. Prior to joining Inscription Capital, he was a Founding Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Legacy Asset Management, an Investment Advisory Firm established in 1998. Mr. Kaplan has a BS from the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama and an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University. Upon completion of his graduate studies, he started his investment career at Texas Commerce Bank/Chase Bank of Texas as a Trust Officer and a Credit Analyst for the Investment Management Group. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2001 and is a member of the Houston Society of Financial Analysts. Rick is actively involved in the Houston community. He serves on the Board of Trustees and is Chairman of the finance committee for the Emery/Weiner School. He is on the board of the Houston Holocaust Museum Foundation, and the finance committee at Congregation Beth Israel.

Marc Oster, with more than 25 years working with affluent families, creates innovative investment relationships and unique business partnerships for and with his clients. With an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University as well as a BA in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University, Mr. Oster has leveraged his academic pedigree and years of experience to help found Inscription Capital. Known for his highly individualized approach to personal service for both individuals and family offices, Mr. Oster is dedicated to creating a differentiated platform to manage an overall service delivery incorporating the client’s CPA, estate planning attorney, third-party experts, and other stakeholders for the most individualized approach available. Mr. Oster serves on the Advisory Board for the KIPP Academy of Houston and is active in the community.

Jillian Nel, CFP®

Jillian Nel joined Inscription Capital in 2019 and serves as the Director of Financial Planning. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®) and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA). For over a decade, Jillian has provided comprehensive financial planning and risk management to individual clients, business owners & their families. She also supports small business owners and their employees with consulting and advisory services on corporate retirement plans and benefits packages. Jillian has a passion for education and the empowerment it delivers to both clients and the general public. She regularly speaks at financial planning seminars and employee education meetings. Since 2017, Jillian has been the Academic Director for the CFP ® Certification Education Program within the Glasscock School at Rice University. She has also served as an instructor of Retirement Planning & Employee Benefits for the program since 2013 and continues to teach on a regular basis. Jillian has a B.S. in Business Administration from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Jillian is actively involved in the Houston community. She is a member of the Corporate Guild for Dress for Success Houston. She is the Vice President of the board of directors for the Women’s Fund as well as a board member for HER Foundation that supports the Women's Fund.

William Lovering

An Economics graduate, William started his career in London in 1986 specialising at the time in the UK Equity market. In 1992 William joined Swiss Banking Group, Lombard Odier working in both their London & Geneva offices managing a wide range of equity asset classes for US and International Clients & Mutual Funds appearing on Bloomberg TV and in the New York Times. In 2005 William was invited to manage the Family Office investments of a very prominent Saudi Arabian Family where he established their international presence in Geneva and closed several notable asset acquisitions in the Natural Resources space on their behalf. William joins Inscription from a small Swiss-based investment advisory firm. Away from the office when his Family allows, he is involved in raising funds for Motor Neuron Disease and the Doodie Weir My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

Patrick Keller: Managing Director

For over two decades, Patrick Keller has served successful individuals and families guiding them through their wealth journey.  As Managing Director at Inscription Capital, he brings his expertise to his clients with a thoughtful approach given his significant work with the ultra-high net worth segment.  Patrick’s approach is consistent and effective, crafted through extensive interactions with his clients grounded in holistic planning.  He approaches each client relationship as unique and effectively delivers solutions to achieve the best outcome.

 

When he's not advising his clients, Patrick cherishes his role as a dedicated father, residing in Houston with his three children actively participating in coaching their various sports.  Patrick fills his remaining time with occasional travel, golf and painting.

Andrew C. Keller: Managing Director

With over two decades in the financial arena, Andrew Keller is a seasoned advisor who combines financial prowess with a heart for philanthropy and a love for family. As Managing Director at Inscription Capital, he brings a sterling history, having built a multi-billion dollar firm prior. Tailoring his expertise to ultra-high net worth clients, Andrew's approach is as distinctive as it is effective, crafted through extensive interactions with business owners and successful individuals and families. His process is grounded in holistic planningand each client relationship is fortified with trust and insight.

When he's not at work, Andrew is devoted to his role as a dedicated family man, residing in Houston with his wife Lyndsey and their three children. Passionate about giving back, he co-founded the Rori Christianne Keller Foundation and actively supports initiatives like the Trotter YMCA and the Greater Houston YMCA Endowment. Andrew has a passion for pickleball, golf, and travel.
